I freed up all my kitchen outlets with one of these and still have openings without over powering my outlet. I'm not sure if it has a surge protector but it's very useful!

it's very nice to have a multitude of plugs so I don't have plug and unplug plus has the plugins for two different phone plugs. I'm using it in my bathroom was always unplugging my hair dryer and curling iron to plug in my cell phone. it's great so great t ordered another one probably going to order more for gifts for friends and family. spread the joy.
